A warehouse manager is needed to work in the west London (Chiswick) office of one of the market leading office furniture design and manufacture firms in the UK.

Forklift licence essential.

Candidates need to be capable, literate and highly organised as this role involves supervision of warehouse and its operatives and extensive liaison with sub contractors and project managers within the company.

The main purpose of this role is to supervise warehouse activities, manage warehouse staff and sub contractors, manage stock levels, control warehouse costs and be the point of contact for project managers. Liaison with external clients and internal staff will be part of the role.


This is a highly significant role within the company and this person will be relied on to ensure that the warehouse (and therefore the company!) is run efficiently.

The hours of work will be Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm with one hour for lunch.

The skills required for this position are:

•Fork lift licence
•Full clean driving licence
•Knowledge of MS office including Outlook / email
•First Aid and Health and Safety Training
•Previous experience of managing people is required
•Experience within a warehousing environment is also necessary, ideally in the office furniture industry.

The ideal candidate will also be highly organised, flexible, punctual, show attention to detail and have excellent communication skills.


Key duties:

•Maintain a safe working environment
•Stock control and authorised allocation of stock, liaising with the customer services department
•Allocate work and direct warehouse operatives and sub-contractors to meet the distribution and delivery demands of the company.
•Plan and manage stock checks as necessary
•Ensure good housekeeping and cleanliness of warehouse
•Ensure regular maintenance of forklift vehicles and other warehouse equipment
•Management of the commercial fleet to ensure it is roadworthy and companies with Health and Safety
•Carry out further reasonable tasks as may be delegated by the logistics manager
