At the leading edge of modern healthcare, HCA are responsible for six private hospitals plus HCA Laboratories in the heart of London. We’re committed to providing world-class patient care - not just meeting the highest standards, but setting them.
The Wellington Hospital is the largest purpose built independent sector hospital in the UK, and has established a national and international reputation for offering the best in private healthcare. Situated in St John’s Wood, North London we provide the highest standards of clinical care across a wide range of specialised services.
We are seeking Surgical Residential Medical Officers to join this busy independent sector, acute care hospital. You will be based in the South Building, which houses orthopaedics, plastic surgery, neurosurgery/neurology, general surgery and gynaecology. In addition, there are registrars for Intensive Care, covering the 24 ITU beds as well as the Cardiac Arrest team.
The South building requires RMOs to provide 24-hour coverage on a current rota based on 12 hour shifts, with one week on and one week off, rotating through a week of nights. This is, however, flexible and can be modified with the agreement of management within the confines of the European Working Time Directive. The night rota is supported by a hospital at night system with a senior nurse screening all calls. The on-call accommodation is in a flat shared with the duty North building RMO. Accommodation is available and study leave with reasonable expenses will be given in line with current NHS levels.
If you have significant relevant post registration experience, current ALS/ATLS certification and full GMC Registration, then we would like to hear from you. Research Fellows able to work full-time will also be considered. The post would also suit a doctor requiring time to study for post-graduate examinations or those wishing to experience private health care.
Benefits include excellent salary and “Lifestyle” package, which comprises private medical insurance, critical illness cover and other optional benefits.
