Job Description
FUNCTION: To act as an assessor to groups of NVQ Candidates and to support them by developing their underpinning knowledge.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Prepare NVQ candidates for assessment in their workplace.

2. To assess NVQ candidates in their workplace.

3. To provide NVQ candidates with feedback from assessment.

4. To assist NVQ candidates in portfolio preparation.

5. To provide NVQ candidates and others with underpinning knowledge.

6. To undertake all necessary preparation, administration and assessment associated with support of NVQ candidates.

7. To continually review NVQ candidates' progress and assist in action planning to promote their learning.

8. To provide appropriate learning support to enable effective assessment.

9. To participate in the planning and implementation of schemes of assessment.

10. To participate in enrolment and induction of NVQ candidates onto programmes.

11. To provide up to date information related to the role of NVQ Assessor to the Internal Verifier and Training Manager.

12. To participate in Centre devised professional development activities.

13. To devise personal professional development activities.

14. To participate in appraisal schemes.

15. To participate in self-assessment activities including observation of learning sessions if needed.

16. To attend standardisation meetings.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A degree and / or level 3 qualification in the respective fields as well as D32 / D33 or A1 certificate are essential. Willingness to work towards V1 certificate is desirable.

Also proven assessment track record and experience of holding a caseload of more than 20 + learners and a wide knowledge and working experience in the relevant fields.

Further more, good customer care, organisational skills, ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team, flexible approach to work, pro-activity and commitment to work, energetic, enthusiasm and strong communication skills are essential.
