Carpenter / Joiner Team Leader
The Sofa and Chair Company Limited are currently looking to recruit a professional and experienced Carpentry Team Leader who will be responsible for the motivation, welfare and training of a small team of 4-6 staff in the Carpentry workshop.

You will manage the workflow of the team, looking after projects right through the frame production process to ensure project team leader receive their furniture on the agreed time scale, to the correct specification and meeting the highest quality standards. You will have hands-on bench carpentry experience in the manufacture of furniture.


Key Skills Required
* GCSE or equivalent professional joinery/carpentry qualifications
* Computer skills MS Office
* Knowledge / understanding of technical drawings
* Staining & Polishing experience beneficial
* Fork Lift Licence - preferable
* Good management / production experience gained in a similar company.
* The ability to introduce good manufacturing practice
* Excellent people management and leadership skills
* Good reporting and communication skills gained in manufacturing
* Persuasive and dynamic
* Planning and organising
* Persuasion and influence
* Good communication skills
* Man management skills for a multi cultural workforce

Accountabilities
* Manage a team of 4/5 carpenters and 1 Polisher.
* The planning and production scheduling of works orders.
* Delegating, monitoring and controlling work of carpenters.
* Ensuring quality control and standards are in place and maintained.
* Effective communications and attending regular meetings.
* Recruiting, developing and motivating carpentry workshop.
* Maintain & control woodworking equipment and machinery.
* Inspection of completed frames to ensure compliance to technical drawing.
* Provide technical support and guidance in the construction of frames.
* Liaising regularly with other departments (including the Upholstery Workshop and Sales team) to ensure work is completed to customer requirements.
* Fork Lift Truck.
* Reports directly to the Production Manager
