As a health Social Worker I ve come in to contact with a lovely gentleman in his mid 30 s. He is a non-smoker with no drug issues. He came to this country from India 6 years ago and was employed by a computer company. When his contract ended he decided to stay on apply for a visa extension and continue working sending money back home to his sick mother. Unfortunately he became ill lost his job and was thrown out of his flat as he couldn t pay the rent anymore. His visa application is still pending so he is not entitled to any support financial or otherwise from the state. For several months he has been sleeping in parks on busses and relying on food handed out by various charities. He has been attacked on numerous occasions is highly vulnerable and very depressed. He has 4 months worth of taking his medication to go and desperately needs a safe environment in which to do so. He is willing to do some light work run errands to earn his keep but is unable to offer any money.
