Job Purpose

The purpose of this job, as compliance Accountant,is to manage the Compliance Department, which is responsible for all corporate annual accounts, corporate tax returns and bookkeeping in addition to self assessments for private clients.

Job Responsibilities

• Deal with HMRC communications and ensure the department follows best practice in relation to tax issues.
• Review and finalise self assessments for the company’s private clients.
• Lead tax investigations and ensure this has been properly reviewed by a director prior to issuing.
• Ensure the department prepare clients’ annual accounts to UK GAAP standard, prepare corporation tax returns and ensure these are filed in good time to the satisfaction of the client.
• Manage part qualified Accountants, ensuring they comply with company policy and procedures, review their work and ensure they are properly trained and motivated.
• Ad-hoc duties as may be reasonably required.

• Qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA or CIMA (CIMA preferred)
