My Client Primary School in Lambeth is looking for a SENCO for 2 terms from January 2010. The current SENCO is going overseas. The position will be advertised in May 10’ so the successful candidate for January will be in a strong position for the contract from August 2010.

They are looking for an enthusiastic and effective individual who will demonstrate excellent communication skills to work with staff, children, parents and outside agencies. You will be able to show a broad understanding of inclusive policy, practice and barriers to learning.

A fair percentage of the children are on the SEN register. Some work needs to be done on IEPs and also with some statements. The job will involve working both in and out of class, working alongside both the staff and the children. You will also manage a team of experienced TAs. One day per week you will be covering PPA time in four classes.

The Head will ideally be looking for someone with at least a year’s experience as a SENCO in an Inner City Primary School. She will also consider a strong teacher, with a genuine passion for SEN and with at least 3 years experience in a Primary School.

Short listing will take place at the end of November and the interviews will be the following week. You will need a current CRB
