Lgh 762T was one of them. The car was used very infrequently in and around Tulsa (Oklahoma is a relatively warm dry state) for the next 10 years or so and had covered a warranted mileage of just 5900 before being sold to its second owner. Over the following 20 years in the hands of its new owner an Eye Surgeon and collector the car covered just 20 or so more miles and was kept covered in secure dry storage during that time. Six months ago the car was purchased directly from the second owner by the third and shipped to the U.K. Since that time Lgh 762T as been recommissioned including replacement of all brake cylinders and has traveled less than 100 miles in the U.K bringing the total miles covered from new to just 6031.m Built before legislation in the States made it impossible for European manufactures to export cars into the country without considerable change Lgh 762T is pretty much standard European specification. This car is of course Left hand drive as Volkswagen Karmann designers intended their cars to be. Real enthusiasts I am told would not seriously consider any Karmann Beetle Convertible in any other form other than left hand drive. Lgh 762T is truly exceptional resplendent in metallic silver totally original rust free it must surely rank as one of the finest if not the finest original lowest mileage examples anywhere in the world. Bodywork All of the panel s glass and paintwork are original. The silver paintwork retains a deep lustre and has an extremely smooth finish. No paint rectification is required. There are no signs anywhere of rust including the underside and wheel arch lips inner floor and boot floor. The door shuts underside of the doors boot and bonnet shuts are as new. Of course no welding has ever been carried out and most certainly none is required. The original vinyl hood is unmarked with not the slightest tear rip or wear mark. The heated rear window works and the hood and side windows operate just as they should. All the chrome is in first rate condition. Interior In line with the rest of the car you could be forgiven for thinking that this is a vehicle that is only a few months old when you see the interior. The black vinyl seats and floor covering are unmarked. The door cards and the rest of the trim are unmarked. The unmarked white headlining is excellent. Gt steel wheels all with their factory fitted Continental tyres Under The Bonnet Exceptional. Under the bonnet the engine bay is spotless and only through such limited use could it present so well and correct. No sign of rust to the body or inner wings whatsoever. Original stickers remain There is no sign of deterioration to the visual appearance of components. Once again you would never know the age of the vehicle from an inspection in here. In The Boot In keeping with the rest of the car trim in exceptional unmarked condition. Beneath the spare wheel the boot floor is spotless. The spare wheel is new with an unused factory fitted Continental. There is an unused Jack and wheel brace with the socket still in its original plastic container. Unused hood cover. On The Road The car starts on the button with automatic choke. There are no untoward noises or smoke The gears changes up and down just as they should. On the road the car drives like an absolute dream in fact like a new car the 1600 injection engine sounds and behaves like a 6000 mile Beetle engine should. M.O.T. until October 2008. New exhaust just fitted. The old one believed the original factory fitted item and repairable comes with the car. Having not had a great deal of experience with Karmann convertible beetles I was totally delighted when I drove this car.
