Hays Education is
working with a SEN School in East London (zone 2). They are seeking a committed SEN Teacher to join their team and to develop and deliver lessons to a Key Stage one class. The pupils in the class are statemented in autism (ASD) and they may have challenging behaviour. The class has 6-8 pupils and has good support from the teaching assistants. An understanding of the issues associated with complex needs and emotional and social difficulties is desirable. A commitment to furthering the learning and development of these pupils is essential.

Requirements:

·You must have a Qualified Teacher Status

·Experience teaching pupils with ASD

·Knowledge of PECS and Makaton would be beneficial

·You must be able to differentiate your approach to reach all learners and have excellent behaviour management skills

·An interest in special educational needs is required
