A current vacancy exists for an experienced Science Teacher to join a secondary school based in the borough of Ealing. Working from a recently refurbished state of the art facility you will join a newly appointed Principal who brings excellent leadership skills to the role in the quest to improve academic standards even further.
Your day-to-day role will include:
· Responsibility to your Curriculum Leader for ensuring the effective co-ordination of all aspects of teaching across all key stages
· To contribute to the effective leadership of the curriculum area
· To contribute to the monitoring of standards of performance and teaching and learning
· To ensure provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students studying in the key stage, in accordance with the aims of the Academy and the curricular policies determined by the Principal and Governing Body
· To ensure that the Academy and Curriculum Area's aims are put into practice and lead the drive for continuous improvement
· To develop and enhance the teaching practice of others
To initiate and contribute to the oversight of staff and the development and maintenance of resources within the curriculum area
To contribute to ensuring that the Academy is a disciplined, well-ordered place for purposeful learning
Successful candidates will have: -
· A suitable first degree and UK recognised teaching qualification (i.e. QTS, PGCE)
· Experience and demonstrable success within your subject area
· Demonstrable success as a teacher of your subject
· Excellent knowledge and understanding of the National Curriculum in the subject at the relevant Key Stages
· Experience with the concept of target setting and of developing and employing criteria for measuring success and assessment for learning
· A clear and demonstrable understanding of teaching and learning issues
· Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in English secondary schools in multi-cultural urban contexts
· Experience of teaching in co-educational secondary schools
· Experience of teaching your specialist subject across the age and ability range
· Strong leadership and management skills

You will have strong behaviour management skills and be a committed team player that will improve the already high standards of the school
