Chef/Catering Manager £10 per hour

We are a large modern charity run Care Home for the elderly near the Oval tube in south London.

You will lead the team cooking for around 100 mainly elderly residents from a large well equipped kitchen. Daily food preparation with the emphasis on fresh home cooked food. You will need to be able to manage the kitchen, and be responsible for planning and organisation of all aspects of the kitchen,

The kitchen is staffed from 6.30am until 7.30pm seven days a week – There are 3 different shifts Breakfast 6.30am to 2.00pm - Day 8.00am to 4.00pm Evening 4.00pm to 7.30pm you will be rostered to cover a mixture of shifts and weekends – usually involves about one weekend in three and one week in three on Breakfast and Evening although the manager is responsible to cover all shifts in the event of absence. All hours worked are paid.

This is a hands on post and will involve daily cooking and food prep rather than just management.
All applicants must have a proven craft background, some formal training qualification and at least 5 years catering experience.

(£19,500 pa for 37.5 hours = £10.00 per hour) Free parking & overalls, 4 weeks holiday. Excellent spoken and written English essential. References and a CRB check required.
