Welcome to my auction for this fantastic BMW 520i se. This is the high spec SE model, finished in Orient Blue metallic and with the desirable manual gearbox. This car has covered genuine 145,000 miles and I think it's a rare find at this price range in such condition and with such mileage and provenance.

THIS CAR HAS RECENTLY HAD A NEW HEAD GASKET & CYCLINDER HEAD PUT IN AT A COST OF £1200 I HAVE THE ORIGINAL GARAGE RECIPT.

It was first registered in August 1998 on an "S" plate and has had just two private owners from brand new. The BMW has been very well looked after, still is totally original and in very good condition and comes with a full MOT until May 2009.

The BMW 5 series has always been regarded as the ultimate executive saloon and after a long motorway journey in one you will see why.
It is a viable alternative to an E-Class Mercedes, Volvo S80, Volkswagen Passat, Audi A6 or A8, Honda Legend and most Jaguars. These E39 BMWs are capable of covering huge mileages and the materials are durable and hard wearing. The 520i is easy to live with on a day-to-day basis, superb to drive, quiet and comfortable even on very long journeys. The interior is well though out and numerous adjustments help for a great driving position. It has 4 star NCAP safety rating and is equipped with ABS, driver, passenger, side and curtain airbags, side impact bars, seat belt tensioners etc.

The 2.0 litre straight six petrol engine (150 Bhp) has VANOS variable valve timing and is silky smooth and quiet, has bags of torque and pulling power and on longer journeys offers realistic 35 MPG, which in reality is no worse than a 2 litre Mondeo or Vectra. The engine is chain driven and there are no timing belts that require replacing.

The reliablity is amazing, the parts are readily available and cheap and there are plenty of good independent specialist that can look after a 5 series without breaking the bank.
