Exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and hard-working graduate at a digital agency start-up
We're looking for a highly motivated graduate for a 3 month internship (non-paid but expenses covered) at our digital agency start-up based in London.
What we're looking for:
The type of person we are looking for should be excited by the changing technology and media landscape and the impact this has had on how brands and businesses conduct their activities and communicate with their customers. We believe that the rise of social media has forced a change in the way that these companies behave and we hope that you think the same.
Here are some more things we're looking for in the ideal candidate. You don't have to fit all of them but a couple would certainly help your case.
- Degree from top university
- Someone who uses or is familiar with: facebook, twitter, flickr, youtube/vimeo, tumblr, posterous, dailybooth
- Someone who has an interest in web/technology start-ups
- Someone who's read The Long Tail, The Ground Swell, Wikinomics, What Would Google Do, The Tipping Point or any Seth Godin books
- Someone who has run or their own business at uni or before or has been involved in club promotion - seems like a strange thing to ask but we've had good experiences with those who have
- Good time management skills
- Self organised
- Very quick to learn
- Creative writing skills
- Video editing skills
- Design skills (ideally web but graphic/print skills would be a good start)
- An interest in music (you may take on the mantle of office DJ some days)
- Easy going but hard working
A bit more about us:
So you know more about us, we're a young digital agency based just north of Old Street in London. Previously our team have worked with organisations ranging from household media brands, government organisations and bootstrapped startups. We don't just do client work though, we also actively develop our own online projects and encourage the team to work on new ones too as we find this makes work more exciting and makes us more fun for clients to work with. As well as doing client work and our own projects, we also have a think tank which produces reports looking at emerging trends in the industry which involves conducting interviews with some really interesting people.
What you'll be doing:
The role will be very hands on so will be a great opportunity for you to be involved in new business meetings with clients, in planning sessions and shaping how we grow our business while in it's early stages. During the placement we will also be helping you get to grips with all aspects of online marketing especially social media, community management and search engine marketing which should be a big help for whatever you go on to do, whether it's with us or another company.
The potential:
We want to help you develop into a stellar employee and we'll do everything we can to make this happen even if you don't want to stay with us. The initial position is for 3 months but there will be the opportunity for this to become a permanent position based on how you get on and whether you would like to stay with us!
As well as getting a crash course in all things online/tech, you'll have lots of contact building opportunities as well and as we're a new company, if you impress us there would be the opportunity to progress very quickly.
The small print:
If you're successful, you'll be working from our office in East London working 9-6 Monday - Friday. We'll be covering your expenses up to £200/month which should cover your travel and food.
Please get in contact with a CV, cover letter, portfolio if you have one and an answer to the following questions:
- Why we should give you the role?
- 5 companies you would love to work for and why?
- Who do you admire and why?
- If you were to start your own business what would it be doing?
