You will be joining a strong department that aims to enliven pupils’ interests in History by connecting their studies with their own life experiences. You will be working in a significant historic building providing an excellent platform for achieving this aim. Teaching methodologies are very varied – site visits, role play, group discussion, visiting speakers, conference attendance and pupil presentation are all employed, as well as extensive use of ICT. The History Department is extremely successful – consistently good uptake at GCSE and A level is underpinned by excellent exam results.
