This paralegal role is to act as liaison between the client and fee earners in the investigation and settlement of anti-piracy cases.

DUTIES:

·Assessment of corporate piracy leads concerning the BSA:
target checks
recommendation of action
litigation clearance

·Investigation of matters:
documentation review
audit
collaboration with informants and taking of witness statements
drafting and conducting pre-litigation correspondence
dealing with litigation targets on the telephone
negotiation with target companies and/or litigation
drafting and negotiation of settlement agreements and calculation of amounts.

·Production of client and internal reports, including programme statistics, case reviews and revenue from legalisations and settlements.

KEY SKILLS:

Legal qualification
Litigation experience – desirable
Knowledge of copyright software – desirable

We would expect a lawyer with the given PQE to have gained the level of experience required, but this does not preclude applications from those with more or less PQE.
