Secondary Mathematics Teacher required to teach on a TDA funded Mathematics Subject Knowledge Enhancement Course

My client requires a UK Secondary School teacher with QTS with at least three years experience who has successfully taught at A level and holds a maths degree to teach on Mondays and Tuesdays on the university's enhancement course.


Student Audience: Prospective PGCE or GTP Secondary students who wish to become a Mathematics teacher. This course is for students who have experience of the subject to at least A-level standard. This could be through holding an A-level in the subject, having an element of it in your degree course and/or occupational experience of the subject. We accept degrees from a range of Mathematics related disciplines.


Your Role: write and deliver two modules:

Module B2: Operations & ICT
Aims:
• To understand direct and inverse operations in mathematics
• Gain familiarity with a mathematical software
• To apply Operations to a variety of topics to solve a range of problems


Module B3: Algebraic Thinking
Aims:
• To understand (i) what is a mathematical argument? (ii) the role of inductive evidence and deductive mathematical reasoning
• To understand how algebra relates to generalised arithmetic
• To apply algebraic reasoning to ‘real life’ situations/problems

In addition you will be supporting the students with their subject knowledge development.

PART TIME - 2 DAYS PER WEEK

£125 - £140 per day
