Credit Controller Waltham Cross
Job Purpose:
To actively monitor and maintain the sales ledger through the collection of outstanding debt. This would involve solving customer queries, raising documentation, negotiating for the best outcome for the company. Continually working to build effective relationships internally and externally in order to maximize collection opportunities.
Accountabilities:
1. To act as the first point of contact to prompt query resolution in relation to debtor accounts.
2. To take a proactive approach to maintain a good working relationship with our customer whilst ensuring the credit terms are adhered to.
3. Contact customers via the phone, email, letter and fax primarily to ensure payments are received within the agreed payment terms.
4. The daily monitoring of credit limits imposed on accounts within a personal portfolio and to ensure that they are kept within the guidelines.
5. Posting payments accurately and in a timely manner onto the Sales Ledger.
6. Reconcile accounts and communicate accurate feedback to customers.
7. Provide monthly statements via various methods.
8. Provide copies of invoices and credit notes when required.
9. If applicable the processing of credit notes.
10. If applicable to assist in the training of new staff.
11. Be willing to undertake any other duties in relation to credit control administration and associated accounts activities as may be required.
12. Be an enthusiastic supportive team player.
Competencies / Skills:
Excellent verbal, written and listening skills.
Computer literate including Excel to intermediate level.
Coaching skills.
A Self starter with a hands-on, and a pragmatic approach.
Professional telephone manner and excellent verbal communication skills
Ability to liaise at all levels with confidence.
Professional approach to difficult situations.
Must have the ability to pay attention to detail and demonstrate quick thinking.
Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and meet deadlines whilst remaining calm.
Sound administrational skills with the ability to prioritise.

Knowledge / Experience:
Educated to GCSE level or equivalent including Maths and English
Previous experience of Credit Control preferably in a blue chip company
Excel to an intermediate level Experience of downloading data and data manipulation using spreadsheet tools and mail merge
