Legal Revenue Billings Controller
The job holder is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day support of the business processes for the Finance and Practice Management Systems (including GPMS and other finance systems such as Hyperion Enterprise and On-line Reporting). The finance function is the key user.
Your key responsibilities will be:
Assisting in the investigating of queries in Oracle, Keystone, Incept and other finance applications.
Assisting in the investigation of Fee earner time recording queries.
Logging and prioritising issues where appropriate via the Remedy software, including managing business users objectives with regards to solution deliverables.
Managing the LFA mailbox and assigning calls to the appropriate teams. This will require clarifying requests from the GPMS user and an understanding of the Finance functions in order to ensure tasks are assigned correctly.
Maintain HR data including rate and target changes ( eg twice yearly mass rate updates ).
Running and analysing results of basic Toad queries.
Providing month end support including managing the WIP and Bad Debt provisions.
Management of non billable matters to ensure all postings are in line with Policy.
Completion of tasks allocated by LFA Accountant plus adhoc tasks required to meet LFA team's goal

You should have some relevant practical experience ideally gained in a professional services environment and have developed a working understanding of the finance function (e.g. Reporting and Billing & Collections) in order to understand their operational pressures, priorities and objectives
You should have relevant finance systems knowledge, ideally this would include a good knowledge of Remedy and Time and Billing systems, although this is not essential. A good working knowledge of Excel is essential (ability to design and format spreadsheets).
This role will require a basic familiarity with computer systems, and an enquiring and logical mind.
As activities are time critical, the holder must have strong time management and organisational skills, a proactive approach and an eagerness to drive issues through to a conclusion, asking for assistance where appropriate.
You will have initiative and have the ability to pick things up quickly.
You will have the ability to communicate in a clear, concise and logical manner, both written and verbally.
You will enjoy working as a team, have a hands on approach and be willing to share your knowledge with others.
The ability to work professionally and confidentially is critical.
