Sustainable Streatham Launch
Sustainable Streatham is a network of residents, businesses and community groups interested in the environment and how we can make Streatham sustainable in the future. Would you like to join us?
We are holding two launch events in October 2009:
Friday, 16th October
Venue: The White Lion Pub, 232 Streatham High Road
From 6.30pm
6.30pm - Film screening: "The Power of the Community" - beating the challenge of Peak Oil in Cuba.
7.30pm to 9pm - Speakers, including Penney Poyzer + other short films, performers and activities
9.00pm - Music: "Lion Jazz" (Steve Waterman feat. The Andrea Vicari Trio)
Saturday, 17th October
Venue: Gracefield Gardens NHS Centre, Gracefield Gardens off Streatham High Road
From 2.30pm to 5pm
Showcasing green, sustainable and environmental groups serving Streatham. There will be information about composting, recycling, food, alternative health, waste removal, cycling, energy reduction, organics, gardening, Fair Trade, local businesses, solar and renewable energies, Guerilla Gardening and mapping green areas in Streatham along with:
Speakers and opening remarks by Keith Hill MP
Prize draw with donations from local businesses
Clothes swap - SWISH event all afternoon
Cake & Tea
Please bring along any unwanted good quality clothing you would like to swap at the SWISH.
