Are you an experienced and qualified Drama teacher or an existing Head of Department that’s available and looking for a position from January ?
This large mixed comprehensive was graded as outstanding in every category by OFSTED in 2008 and is one of the best performing schools in the whole of the UK. The school boasts superb management, high profile and dynamic teaching and excellent support mechanism to help you with everything from behaviour to professional development.
Due to a maternity cover a the school are looking to recruit an experienced Drama teacher or HOD on a long term supply basis from January 2010. The post is to cover the current HOD’s timetable but you would not be expected to undertake the role of HOD. The position will definitely run until the end of the academic year and there is a very strong possibly that’s the position will run until December 2010.
The school is a specialist Arts College and has forged an excellent reputation for teaching and learning. You will be joining a faculty that heeds good results and has a stable and strong team. The Drama department is equipped with 2 state of the art studios and including a specific dance room. There are currently 2 full time Drama teachers and 1 part time teacher in the department who will welcome an experienced colleague who will involve themselves fully in school life and also play a role in the large extra-curricular Drama programme.
The timetable consists of KS3 and KS4 Drama and A level teaching is available for a suitably experienced teacher.
The school is a vibrant multi-cultural environment with a friendly and family feel to it. There are only 650 students so you will get to see your classes regularly and therefore build up solid relationships quickly and effectively. You will have the chance to work closely with the Drama department on an up and coming production for April which will be performed in the schools theatre and is a whole school production.
