Posting my business services ad
Posting business services ads is the same as posting a free ad on Gumtree, however at the end of the posting process, you are asked to choose between payment methods. We accept the following forms of payment:

- PayPal
A credit card payment is the most common payment method and after entering your details the transaction is made securely by a third party secure site**.
Once submitted, there will be a delay of about 3-4 hours before the ad will appear online, so please be patient. It may be quicker during week days, but may take longer during the weekend or in the evenings.
After submitting your posting online, you will be sent a confirmation email which will contain your reference number and password. Please keep this email, because you can use these details later to edit, repost or delete your ad.

Our online credit card payment forms are powered by the SecureTrading payment system which means that your credit card details are fully encrypted using the most sophisticated e-payment software. Our systems relay your credit card information (using the same encryption method) to SecureTrading, which charges your account. Are there any services ads which Gumtree do NOT accept?
Certain business services cannot be posted on Gumtree – please see business services posting rules. This page also gives our refund policies concerning ads which breach these posting rules.
 
I can’t find my business services ad online. Where is it?
There are a few possibilities for why you can’t see your ad:
• Your ad has not yet come on line
There will always be a short delay (it can take up to 3-4 hours) before an ad that is posted or reposted appears online so if you only recently posted/ reposted your ad then it should be appearing shortly.
• Your ad is there but amongst all the other ads it can be hard to find!
Use the search box at the top of the page and enter some text that you included in your ad (the email address, phone number or something else in the description or title) - this should help you locate it.
• Your ad is there but in a different category!
It might be worth using the search box on the Gumtree homepage to try and locate your ad in case you accidentally put it in another category.
• Your ad has expired
If you posted your ad more than 30 days ago then it may have expired.
• Your ad has been deleted
Ads that fall outside our business services posting rules/terms and conditions may be removed from the site.
If you have checked out all of these possibilities and none of them apply to your ad then please let us know and we will take a look.

Editing my business services ad
When you edit your ad, you have a choice of whether to pay again for your ad, or to leave the ad under the existing posting date without paying again.
To edit your ad at any time simply click the 'manage my ad' button on the top right hand side of the Gumtree home page and follow the prompts.
You will need the posting reference number and password for your ad:
* If you've forgotten your posting reference number simply use the search box in the category you posted in to find your ad. You will find the posting reference number in the bottom right-hand corner of your ad.
* If you've lost or forgotten your password you can click the 'Email me the password’ button, and we will send it to you automatically.
After a short delay, amended ads will be updated on the site.

How do I change the category of my business services ad?
If your ad has been posted in the wrong category, let us know as soon as you can after posting, telling us the category you want your ad to be moved to. We will get back to you as soon as we can.
 
Adding images/ photos to my business services ad
To help with your ad you can add a maximum of 3 images. There is no need to worry about sizing your images as that will be done automatically for you when you upload them to your ad. To add images/ photos:
1. At the bottom of the posting description page, there is a button labeled “Add/edit images” – click on that button
2. To add a photo, press the “browse” button to search your computer for the relevant image file
3. Once an image is chosen (and the location of the image appears in the white box), click the “UPLOAD” button. This is very important!
4. Once the upload is complete (this may take a short time), you should be able to view this image on this page.
5. You can repeat the process to add more images (remembering to click “upload” each time), or click “preview your ad” to continue
PLEASE NOTE: Once an ad is submitted with an image, you may not be able to view the image in your ad immediately, as it takes longer for the images to appear than the text. This is normal behaviour so please be patient and check your ad again after an hour or so – your image should then appear.

There are so many ads on Gumtree and the most recent ones appear first, so your ad may quickly move down the listings and you may find you get fewer responses after the first few days.

No, Bump Up is no longer available for ads posted in London Business Services.

Deleting my business services ad
Your ad (as long as it is in line with business services posting rules!) will stay online either until it has expired or until you decide to delete it. In general, the expiry timings for a paid business services ad is up to 30 days.
To delete your ad at any time simply click the 'Manage my ad' button on the top right hand side of the home page and follow the prompts.
You will need the posting reference number and password for your ad:
* If you've lost or forgotten your password you can click the 'Email me the password’ button and we will send it to you.
* If you have forgotten your posting reference number simply use the search fields on site to locate your ad (tip: try searching for your email address or phone number that you gave in the ad) and you will find the posting reference number in the bottom right-hand corner of your ad.
After a short delay your ad will be removed from the site.

Receiving responses to my business services ad
When posting your ad you have three options for receiving responses to your ad:
1. Receive responses by email (and phone), email address is hidden in the ad
People will contact you via an online email form which is forwarded by our system to your email. As your email address is not shown and the emails go through our system first we can also help reduce as much as possible any spam you receive.
To do this and hide your email address in your ad then simply ensure that the “Hide my contact email address” box IS ticked when submitting your ad.
2. Receive responses by email (and phone), email address is visible in the ad
Your email address is visible and so people can email you directly. To do this simply ensure that the “Hide my contact email address” box IS NOT ticked when submitting your ad.
3. Receive responses by phone only, only phone number visible in the ad
If you do not want to receive responses via email at all but just receive responses by phone then simply provide a contact number in the “Phone Number” field and leave the “Email address” field blank.
